We are partnering with an award-winning national contractor delivering civil and marine infrastructure projects across Australia. With a strong national project portfolio and continued growth in the mining sector, they are seeking a high-calibre Senior Project Engineer / Deputy Project Manager to join their team.
The Opportunity
This is a key leadership role on a significant remote marine construction project, working a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off FIFO roster. You'll play a critical role in project delivery, supporting the Project Manager while taking ownership across engineering, planning, commercial, and site execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate site engineering teams to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes
- Support the Project Manager in delivering projects on time and within budget
- Drive programming, planning, and resource coordination across works
- Oversee HSEQ compliance, including safety systems, environmental management, and quality assurance
- Manage subcontractors, procurement processes, and project cost controls
- Prepare and manage monthly claims, reporting, and financial tracking
- Maintain strong communication with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders
- Identify and manage project risks, variations, and contractual obligations
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- 10+ years' experience in civil construction
- Strong background in civil and marine construction (essential)
- Experience in marine structures and/or dredging within mining environments (highly regarded)
- Proven ability to manage programmes, costs, and subcontractors
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Full Australian/New Zealand working rights (essential)
- Up to $300K package + LAHA commensurate on experience
- Balanced 2:2 FIFO roster promoting work/life balance
- Exposure to large-scale, technically complex marine projects
- Clear pathway into Project Manager and senior leadership roles
