Senior / Lead HSE Advisor - Road Construction
18-Month Project | DIDO ex Perth | 5/2 Roster | $160K + Super + Vehicle + Uplift + LAHA


We are currently seeking an experienced Senior / Lead HSE Advisor to join a highly reputable Tier 1 contractor delivering an 18-month road reconstruction and realignment project northeast of Perth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HSE professional to take a leadership role on a major civil infrastructure project, overseeing a small team of HSE Advisors and working closely with the Project Manager and wider project leadership team.

The position has become available due to a change in personal circumstances of the incumbent and represents an immediate opportunity to step into an established project with a strong safety culture and experienced delivery team.

The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will take a lead role in managing HSE performance across the project, while providing guidance and leadership to a team of 2-3 HSE Advisors.

The project involves significant road reconstruction, pavement and realignment works, providing an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong civil construction background to make an immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day HSE function across the project
• Manage and mentor a team of 2-3 HSE Advisors
• Provide high-level HSE advice and support to project management and site teams
• Drive the implementation of the project's HSE management systems and initiatives
• Conduct site inspections, audits, risk assessments and incident investigations
• Monitor compliance with legislative, contractual and company requirements
• Promote a proactive safety culture across the workforce
• Work closely with construction teams to identify and manage project risks
• Support continuous improvement across HSE systems, processes and performance
• Engage with client and project stakeholders on HSE matters

About You
To be considered, you will ideally have:

• 10+ years' HSE experience within civil construction
• At least 2 years' experience in a Senior or Lead HSE capacity
• Strong experience across road construction and pavement works
• Experience leading or mentoring HSE personnel
• Strong understanding of construction risk management and HSE systems
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work autonomously while operating effectively within a project leadership team
• MRWA project experience highly advantageous
• Relevant HSE qualifications and certifications

We are particularly interested in candidates who have progressed from hands-on site-based HSE roles into senior/lead positions and have a strong understanding of the practical challenges associated with major road construction projects.
