About the Organisation
As a highly successful and dynamic civil contractor with, our client has been experiencing significant growth across their mining and resources projects across Western Australia. We are seeking an experienced P6 Planner/ Planning Engineer with extensive project experience in heavy civils, including concrete works, earthworks, and SMP works in the resources and infrastructure sector.
This is a secure and long-term opportunity with a solid pipeline of work into the future and you will be employed on a permanent contract with market leading salary package courtesy of a healthy uplift.
About the Opportunity
With their core markets continuing to get busier, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Planner/ Planning Engineer to join the project team on a brand new mine expansion project, you will provide crucial project planning services. You will be reporting to the Project Manager, and also work closely with the Engineering Manager and Precontracts Manager between projects.
Note, this is a FIFO opportunity where you will have the opportunity to earn 30% - 40% project uplift depending on where the project locations are.
The expectation is you will be a Perth resident. Interstate or Trans-Tasman candidates are invited to apply as our client is happy to offer relocation assistance to Perth.

About You
In order to be shortlisted for this opportunity, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- Tertiary qualified
- 5+ years of civil construction experience working in a contractor’s environment, project management background highly desirable
- Will be able to demonstrate good tenure in past employment
- Proven knowledge of construction/engineering techniques and sequences
- High Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project specifically.
- Accurate and complex reporting capabilities
- Solid analytical & problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- A proven ability to work as part of a team
- Be prepared to work on one of the rosters mentioned above
- Review construction drawings and specifications to develop a strong understanding of the project scope, task durations and project deadlines
- Liaise with the operational team to determine the sequencing required to complete the project scope, and relate that to a chronological list of activities broken into work areas
- Develop and maintain resource and revenue-loaded project schedules in Primavera for tender proposals and contract programs that sufficiently and correctly detail the scope of works, interdependency of activities and task durations
- Monitor the progress of engineering, procurement, fabrication, and field construction schedules for both overall target and “4 week look ahead” programs
- Compile daily, weekly and monthly reports as required for all main areas on information received from project management team and generate management “dashboard” reports
- Prepare and update the As-Built Program and any delay claim programs required throughout the project
- Enhance schedules prepared during the tender phase for awarded projects (up to level 5 detail when necessary i.e. resourcing, man hours, quantities etc) and hand over to the Project Manager prior to commencement of the project
