Maintenance Superintendent – FIFO (20/10 or 28/14)
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to join a major dredging project, working on a FIFO basis from ANY major Australian city.
This project role is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the maintenance and reliability of a diverse fleet of marine and heavy equipment assets.
Reporting to the Project Director, you will lead on-site maintenance activities across a fleet that includes 3 barges, 2 transfer vessels, and a Dredger, supported by a team of HD Fitters and specialist subcontractors.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to join a major dredging project, working on a FIFO basis from ANY major Australian city.
This project role is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the maintenance and reliability of a diverse fleet of marine and heavy equipment assets.
Reporting to the Project Director, you will lead on-site maintenance activities across a fleet that includes 3 barges, 2 transfer vessels, and a Dredger, supported by a team of HD Fitters and specialist subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all mechanical maintenance activities across marine and mobile plant assets on site.
- Ensure high levels of equipment availability, reliability, and performance to meet project production targets.
- Manage and coordinate a team of 3 HD Fitters and specialist subcontractors.
- Develop and implement planned maintenance strategies, schedules, and shutdown plans.
- Monitor and optimise maintenance systems, including preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in compliance with HSEQ standards and site procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support on complex mechanical issues.
- Oversee maintenance budgets, cost control, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate parts, consumables, and logistics to minimise downtime in a remote FIFO environment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reporting, and KPIs.
- Work closely with operations to align maintenance activities with project timelines and production requirements.
- Trade-qualified HD Mechanic (essential).
- Proven experience in a Maintenance Superintendent or senior supervisory role within mining or heavy industry.
- Strong background in maintaining large-scale mining equipment (e.g. excavators, loaders, heavy mobile plant).
- Experience managing teams and subcontractors in remote FIFO environments.
- Solid understanding of maintenance planning systems and reliability principles.
- Marine plant and dredging equipment experience (highly regarded but not essential).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- MUST have valid work rights for Australia
- Salary: $180,000 – $200,000 + Super
- 25% uplift
- LAHA provided (Tax Free)
- $20,000 car allowance
- FIFO from ANY major Australian city
- 20/10 or 28/14 roster options
