Civil Estimator to become Lead Estimator

As a well-established multi-disciplined civil contractor, our client have developed a strong portfolio of clients across government and private sector clients with a reputation for reliability, efficiency and personable approach.
With the business going from strength to strength, and the project outlook looking strong, our client is seeking a dynamic and motivated Civil Estimator seeking to join their progressive company and support the GM in estimating projects up to $10m.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking expressions of interest in locally experienced civil estimators with a strong local network amongst subcontractors and suppliers and a reputation for building robust estimates with attention to detail. Typically, you will be working on tenders ranging from $1m - $10m in a wide range of disciplines, including bulk earthworks, road construction, services, water and utilities. The medium to long-term future will see this role become a leadership position with the opportunity to grow your own team.
Skills and attributes required in this role include;
- Tertiary Qualified (Civil/ Structural/ Quantity Surveying etc)
- Minimum of 3 years local (Australian) civil estimating experience
- First principles estimating on tenders over $5m
- Broad experience across subdivisions, roads etc.
- Ability to identify risk and opportunities within tenders, analyse and offer alternative designs based on past site experience
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to develop rapport with internal and stakeholders
- Ideally, well-developed networks within the WA civil market, including positive relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and other relevant bodies.
- Proficiency on estimating software such as Expert Estimation, Candy, Benchmark etc highly advantageous
You MUST have valid working rights for Australia, and either reside in Perth, or be willing to relocate yourself to Perth.
Aside from the attributes above, we are seeking a well-rounded personality who can deal confidently with clients directly at times, build solid relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and have a proactive attitude that will help you assimilate to the company culture.
