About our Client
As a well-established tier 2 civil contractor located in the Moggill area, they have developed a strong portfolio of clients across government and private sector clients which has seen them deliver civil construction projects for blue chip clients in the civil, mining and resources sectors nationally.
About the Opportunity
Infracon Australia has been engaged to identify a motivated and ambitious accountant who is seeking to take the next step in their career and move up the ladder towards a CFO or Commercial Manager level role.
You will have a strong understanding of the civil and mining industry, ideally coming out of a civil or mining contracting background, with a stable work history that demonstrates your tenacity and understanding your role.
This role is ideally suited to an accountant working within a large Tier 1 or Tier 2 construction business seeking to step out of the shadows and make the lead role your own.

Skills and attributes required in this role include;
- Tertiary Qualified (Accounting, Commerce etc)
- CPA Status is highly regarded
- Strong blend of project and management accounting experience within the construction/ civil or mining sector
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to develop rapport with internal and external stakeholders
- Able to demonstrate a strong desire to progress in your career with a proactive and flexible approach.
- Ensuring the correct classification and authorisation of expenditure.
- Ensuring accounts meet all accounting standards.
- Preparing regular reports e.g. Bank reconciliation, cash flow reporting, forecasting, analysis, costs against budget or balance sheets.
- Liaison with external agencies (e.g. auditors).
- Supervising the AP/AR and Payroll functions.
- Oversite, delivery and processing of payroll, expenses, superannuation, WorkCover, payroll tax and all Statutory Obligations.
- Processing of monthly/quarterly PAYG and GST returns and BAS and PAYG lodgement.
- Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts and Annual Financial Statements.
- Contract Administration – budgeting and cost variations, preparation and submission of claims and invoices.
- Maintaining asset register and depreciation schedules.
- Project and business cost control.
- Group and Intercompany transactions.
About You
